The client was downsizing and purchased the existing townhouse but was not happy with the layout on the upper floor. Some rooms were ‘poky’ and bathrooms very dark with no natural daylight. The joinery and finishes were re-designed in the bathrooms and natural light was borrowed from the existing atrium and rooms by providing clerestory windows. The walk-in robe and main bathroom walls were demolished to create a a sitting room, the main bedroom and bathroom were reworked in order to improve the space and circulation. New joinery was added to the third bedroom to create a study/spare room.
Sitting Room, one of the number of rooms renovated. Fixed upholstery seating with under bench drawers for storage.
Recess in the wall accommodates a flat screen television which can be hidden away by sliding joinery doors.
