The proposal was for a new house to accommodate a family of five, with the ability to also accommodate their elderly parents at some stage in the future. A palette of hard wearing and maintenance free building materials and finishes was a requirement. A house that could be passively cooled and heated with plenty of natural light was important along with a strong connection to the garden areas and existing pool area. The concept plan seeks to address these issues, incorporating landscaped courtyard areas which allow plenty of natural light, views and privacy.
